Start Fresh 2020 Declutter

My apologies for not having this up yesterday, but time got away from me.

I realize that I did an end of year declutter but after watching LizzieLovesLife’s video on decluttering her expired/old products, I decided I really needed to take a better look thru my collection. I didnt want to start off the year/decade with expired products.

Its a shame that so many products in my collection were showing signs of their age. Some stopped performing (but I thought I could make them work) and others are simply expired.

I have also decided that I will be decluttering my ABH Modern Renaissance and Subculture palettes at the end of the year. I have progress on both palettes but I dont think they will perform by next year. I am trying to hit pan on every shadow this year.

I also have 4 lipsticks that didnt even make it into my collection that I will be giving to my daughter in law. (Not pictured) I didnt outright pay for them. They came in subscription boxes last month and so I wont be factoring them into any of my totals since the subscription box is already accounted for in my yearly budget.

After adding up the values, the amount shown in the photo below is $167.05.

December 2019 Empties

I cannot believe that the year is over! The end of another decade. The beginning of something new is about to occur…

The end of a year is something special. You can say goodbye to the old and hello to the new. You can strive to be something more. You can reinvent yourself.

On a makeup related note: Make sure to replace your mascaras, makeup sponges and liquid liners if you have had them in use over 3 months. Dont start your year using old or dirty tools 🙂

This months empties total is $185.45!!

Our total amount for 2019 is $1,419.50!

This amount far exceeds what I thought I would have used up for the year! It all adds up.

April 2019 Declutter

Im posting this a day early because I don’t think Ill be around my computer during the day on Thursday.

Back in February, I posted a declutter, so this may come as a surprise that Im doing another one. I spent the last few days going over my inventory and really cleaning and organizing my collection and found that there were products that really needed to go.

The total for the following items Im decluttering is $49.99! My total for the year to date decluttered is $137.99! That total astounds me and its one of the many reasons Im on a low-buy/no buy this year.

1. 2 shadows from a Palladio quad that Im certain was part of one of my first projects posted on my blog. These two shadows keep cracking and its an old quad, so they are gone.
2. An Ulta highlighter I received in a kit that Ive never used.
3. Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Duo from a Sephora Play box I never used. I opened it and its completely dried up.
4. A tarte lip paint that was a birthday gift or in a Sephora Play that looks horrible on me. The formula is a bit thick also, so it may be expired.
5. 4 Sephora lip stains that I bought as a set that look horrible on me.
6. An Urban Decay Afterglow highlighter (Sin) from an Ipsy bag that Ive never used that has to be expired by now.
7. Elf Lipstick (Ravishing Rose) that is broken beyond repair.
8. A Femme Couture lipstick (Classic Caramel) that was in my first project pan that I lost after using half of it. Im tossing because its old and I have no idea if exposure to the elements may have screwed it up.
9. Elf brow that was labeled a dark brown but its actually black and unusable to me. For some reason I threw it back into my collection instead of tossing it then and there.
10. This Ulta Mattifying Balm was awesome and I panned almost half of it, but I left it open and now there’s fuzz all over it and that’s gross.

May 2018 Empties

I can hardly believe its already June! And, as always, Im sharing all of the products I finished up in May. I feel like I finished up alot of things in comparison to prior months.

1. Cotton Rounds – I get these from my local dollar store. I usually get 2 or 3 packs at a time.
2. Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Soap – I love this cleanser. I purchased this after trying a deluxe sample. I purchased two from Ulta because they had a special double points offer.
3. Mario Badescu Facial Spray – This item was in my project pan. I bought this to try out after hearing everyone online love it. Unfortunately Im not a fan of the scent. I did purchase another facial spray, but its the lavender variation.
4. Sephora Micellar Water (Charcoal) – I got this from the sale section on Sephoras site. I do have two other bottles, but one is coconut and another is a lemon (I think). I did like it but the charcoal was a bit intense.
5. Clarins Lotion  – I used this as a hand lotion and enjoyed it, but after seeing how expensive it is, I won’t be repurchasing.
6. Caudalie Resveratrol Moisturizer – I had this in my latest project pan. I received this in a Sephora Play box. I didnt see any improvement in my skin. I won’t repurchase.
7. Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer – I love this. I have not purchased a full size because Im still working thru lotions I have in my collection. Im glad I finished this because it was in my latest project pan.
8. Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen – This stuff was INCREDIBLE! I have another sample to use. I want to purchase but its pretty expensive.
9. Algenist Sleeping Pack – This was the best night moisturizer Ive ever used. It is currently in my wish list.
10. Ban deodorant – Two words-HATED it! Wont repurchase but I did use it up. Thank goodness I stopped getting Target Beauty Boxes.
11. Skin Inc Exfoliator – I got this in a Sephora Play Box and did not like it at all. Personally, I think this is a gimmick.
12. Hydra-C Eye Cream – I did like this, but I won’t be purchasing because I have one full size BareMinerals eye cream and a couple other samples to work thru.
13. Korres Foaming Cream Cleanser – I did not like this cleanser and do not think its worth the price.
14. Sunday Riley Good Genes – These two samples make me really like this product. I think the one I received in my Sephora Play (and recently finished) might have been old. The smell and consistency of these two foil packets was different from the tube. I purchased the Clay Cleanser and Good Genes pack from Sephora and have already started using it.
15. Boscia Black Cleanser  – I really like this cleanser and have purchased a full size.
16. Essense Make me Brow – I liked this. It controls the unruly brows while adding some fullness. Ive already repurchased.
17. Holly Berry Eyebrow Serum – I started using this but forgot about it and its expired now. I would not repurchase because I did not see any difference in brow growth.
18. Marc Jacobs Mascara – This was one of the products in my project pan. The brush was too big on my lashes and I thought the formula was too wet and heavy for me. I can see why others like it, but its not for me.
19. Marcelle Mascara – This was another item that was in my project pan. The wand on this was interesting and I liked the formula. I would repurchase but I have alot of mascaras to work thru first.
20. Stila Stay all Day Eyeliner –  I really did like this and it seemed to last awhile before finally drying out. Its something I might repurchase in the future.
21. Bumble and Bumble Hair Oil – I got this as a sample from Sephora but the packaging on this made the product hard to work with without making a mess. I have a deluze sample from a 250 or 500 point perk that I will try.
22. Dr Jart Water Drop Moisturizer – This was another sample I asked for in Sephora. I did not like this moisturizer at all, and am decluttering it.
23. Ulta Bronzer – This bronzer is my of my oldest products and it crumbles every time I opened the palette I had it in. Decluttering. I would purchase another bronzer  from Ulta in the future.
24. Ulta Blush – This blush is my of my oldest products and it crumbles every time I opened the palette I had it in. Decluttering. I would purchase another blush from Ulta in the future.
25. Palladio Eyeshadow Palette – This is another old makeup item that I am decluttering. I recently tried using it and it was difficult to work with and have show up. I would purchase another palette from Palladio. I get Palladio makeup from Sallys.

Vape Empties

1. Deadline Limeaid and Abetting – I love this juice but have not repurchased due to trying other juices.
2. Fuzion Vapor Poison Apple – I bought this for my 5 year vape-a-versary because it was a juice I vaped back in 2013. Its still as good as I remember.
3. TMaxx Lemon Creme Filled Doughnut – I liked this more than I thought I would. It needs to steep about a month for best flavor.
4. TMaxx Vanilla Mint Candy – This tastes like tic tacs. So good. I bought a 100 ml bottle!
5. TMaxx Vanilla Creme Filled Doughnut – I liked this more than the lemon version which surprised me. I havent repurchased yet, but I plan on getting it soon!
6. Not Too Shabby Like a Sir – This juice is incredibly good! Its a coil gunker. I will repurchase!
7. Scope MaddScope – Saving the best for last! I have repurchased. I dont even like real iced oatmeal cookies!

What did you finish up last month?

MakeUp Use Up Update #1

I apologize for not having any posts last week. I caught whatever bug was going around and couldn’t hit the Publish button.

If you havent been following along, here is my original post describing what products I plan on using up this year. MakeUp Use Up 2017

The products I was able to finish were:

• BareMinerals Mineral Veil (deluxe)
• BareMinerals Lash Domination (both samples)
• Powerlash Mascara
• Elf Liquid Liner
• Eyeko Fat Liner
• Eyeko Liner
• Palladio Liner
• Chella Eyebrow pencil in Tantalizing Taupe

The products I decluttered were:

• Beautique Lip Crayon (too frosty on my lips)
• Covergirl Lip Liner in Raisin (dried out)

I have hit pan on Foxy in my Urban Decay Naked basics palette and have moved on to WOS. I am also using Venus as a brow highlight as well as inner corner highlight.

I also have good progress on my LOC shadow stick and the BareMinerals 5 in one cream eyeshadows.

Im pretty pleased with my progress so far, but the rest of the products will be a bit slower to finish than some of the ‘gimmes’ I put into this project.  Im hoping to update again the beginning of July.

 

 

 

February 2017 Empties

Here are my thoughts on my February empties:

1. Keratin conditioner – I did not see an improvement using this product.
2. Rodial toning spray – I had this in my samples project. I didnt hate using this toner, but I won’t go out of my way to purchase this.
3. Mario badescu cleanser – I had this in my samples project. I did enjoy using this and once I get thru the other cleansers I have, I would consider purchasing it.
4. Not Your Mothers Leave in Conditioner – This had a pleasant smell, but I didnt see any benefit using this versus not using it.
5. Nivea Lotion – While I did like how moisturizing this lotion was, I did not like it in a potted package.
6. Vasanti Brighten Up Exfoliating Cleanser – I did enjoy this and worked thru 2 samples.
7. Urban Decay Setting Spray – It did set my makeup in place the entire day, but so does my less expensive Ulta brand.
8. BareMinerals Complexion Rescue – LOVE this product. I have a full sized tube and had forgotten about this small sample.
9. Mac Prep + Prime – This was a nice primer to use in the cooler months when my skin isnt as oily.
10. Model Co Powerlash mascara – This was in my make-up use up project. I did like this mascara.
11. Palladio liquid eyeliner – This was in my make-up use up project. I LOVE this eyeliner. I always repurchase.
12. Chella eyebrow pencil – This was in my make-up use up project. This shade was too light for me
13. Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer –  I did like how it made my skin feel. The scent was pleasant.
14. Nivea In Shower Body lotion – While I liked the way this smelled, I did not like having to rinse it off.
15. Plumes of Hazard Way Up Here (120 ml / 30 ml bottle) – Its safe to say that I like this e-liquid. My next purchase will be the Limeaid version however.
16. Scope Maddscope – MY ADV without a doubt.
17. Vaseline Intensive Care lotion – I liked this lotion for in my purse.

MakeUp Use Up 2017

I know Im a couple weeks late to posting what I plan on using up in 2017, but I wanted to make sure I had updated my inventory and will be using up my oldest makeup products.

In total I have 36 items I plan to pan, but a few are deluxe or travel sized products and some should be finished by Spring/Summer if I put my mind to it.

Face Products

1. Bareminerals Mineral Veil Full Size – I am halfway done with this and I use it all the time, even on no makeup days. I do have another Mineral Veil in this size as well as a pressed version, but this is my oldest.
2. Bareminerals Mineral Veil deluxe – I recently found this in an old makeup bag and its about halfway finished.
3. Bareminerals Original Powder Foundation – This is my oldest powder foundation and its about halfway finished.
4. Covergirl foundation powder – I just hit pan on this but its my oldest and only drug store face powder.
5. Bareminerals Blemish Remedy Foundation – Im a little over halfway thru this.
6. Palladio stick concealer – This is my oldest concealer and there is almost no use, so I need to use it up.

Lip Products

1. Beautique Lip Crayon – I picked this up at a Sallys on sale and Ive only used it a couple of times.
2. Covergirl Outlast Smoothwear Lip Liner – This only has minimum use.
3. Chapstick Total Hydration – Lip Balms are a MUST especially in the winter. This is just one I recently received in a Walmart or Target Beauty Box that I need to use up.

Eyes

1. LOC Out of your Shell Shadow Stick – I recently got this in a Birchbox and I dont normally use shadow sticks. There is almost no use.
2. Bareminerals 5 in 1 cream eyeshadows – There are two of these. I used to use them alot, but got distracted last summer by some of the great palettes that came out. Since these are cream products, I really need to use them up.
3. Eyeshadow – I dont remember this brand but its a nice sparkly eyeshadow. It applies similarly to a liquid lipstick.

1. Powerlash Mascara – This might be one of my older mascaras and it won’t take long to use up.
2. Bareminerals Lash Domination deluxe samples – There are two of these. One is almost at the end of its life and the only I might have a week or so left.
3. Elf liquid Eyeliner – This was a great eyeliner. Its almost completely finished. (This is an almost gimme)
4. Eyeko Fat Liquid Liner – I feel like this liner is the gift that keeps on giving. I think its going to dry up at any moment tho because this is my oldest liquid eyeliner in the marker form.
5. Eyeko Liquid Liner – I got this in a recent Ipsy or Birchbox but its so small I thought I could use it up quickly.
6. Ulta Gel Eyeliner ‘Smoke’ – One of my older eyeliners for the waterline. I need to use this up and get it out of my collection.
7. Ulta Double Sided Gel Eyeliner ‘Blackout’ ‘Mink’ – Received this as part of a set and just want to use it up. BlackOut is a great liner and for some reason Mink doesnt seem as good as the regular size liner in the same line.
8. Palladio liquid liner – One of my older products. I just want to use it up.

 

1. Chella Eyebrow Pencil ‘Tantalizing Taupe’ – I received this in a Birchbox and while the color is too light, mixing it with other brow products allows me to put this to use.
2. Trestique Highlight Stick – I dont use highlighter on my cheeks (Im 40+ and my skin has noticeable texture) so I use this as a brow highlight and inner corner highlight.

1. Naked Basics Palette – I am only trying to hit pan on Foxy. This is what I use to set my eye primer.
2. Palladio Palette – I am only trying to hit pan on this palette. While this is one of my less expensive palettes, I still really enjoy the results I get when I wear these colors.

So those are the products I hope to pan in 2017. Below is how Im charting the progress of some of the products.

I will probably online update once a quarter since tracking progress can be slow. Updates will consist of informing you what items Ive finished and showing progress on the charts above (if there is noticeable progress).
