Makeup Collection – Eyeshadows

I wanted to share my actual makeup inventory this year – mostly to keep myself accountable. Ill be splitting it into manageable sections over the course of the next few blog posts.

In this post, Ill be sharing my eyeshadow products.

I wont be going into detail because that would take all day, but I have divided my shadows into creams/sticks, singles, small palettes and larger palettes. Im still working on updating numbers in my spreadsheet so I dont have complete shadow totals as of now.

Below are mostly shadow sticks and cream shadows. I use these as a one and done most of the time.

These are the single shadows I have not depotted or cannot depot. The Tarte pots are like a pressed glitter.

These are my mini sized palettes. Those Elf bite size palettes really impressed me last year and I purchased the green one for Christmas last year (even tho we didnt see anyone)

These are my small palettes. If I remember correctly these have 9 pans. I received the Tartelette palettes for Christmas this year.

This is what I have as far as large palettes. The two pink Ulta palettes contain depotted shadows.

I feel like even tho I have a pretty large eyeshadow collection, it doesnt seem TOO overwhelming. If you have any questions about what I like and use the most, leave a comment below.

Do you have the same palettes I have? Do you have a favorite shadow or palette? Let me know below!

2020 Rolling Project Pan – Mid-year Update

Thankfully 2020 is halfway over. Who would have thought that back in January so many plans would have to be modified so much? Admittedly I do A LOT of skincare projects and its no surprise that my 2020 Rolling Project Pan has focused on the skincare products Ive chosen.

I have finished 15 items that have been in my 2020 project and while that does seem to be successful, there are several categories Im still struggling to use.

If you read my last post you will know that I finished a cleanser, setting powder and had to declutter an expired face mask. So I am rolling the next oldest products in my collection in those categories.

  • Cleanser – Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash. While this isnt the cleanser I  need to use for how my skin is currently, its my oldest cleanser so I need to use it up. Ill be using it as my morning cleanse.
  • Mask – Kate Somerville Exfolikate. I love this mask and Ive used almost half of the tube.
  • Setting Powder – Makeup Forever HD powder. Ive never used this powder before but I know several people who love it as much as the Laura Mercier.

C79615A3-8B8F-4631-A095-DBD6E60107D2_1_201_aI also change up which perfumes I use during this time of year. So, Ive rolled in my Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream rollerball into the project. Ill be using this perfume until sometime early fall when I will roll the Elizabeth and James Nirvana back into the project.

Have you been struggling with your year long projects? Have you finished many products?

Start Fresh 2020 Declutter

My apologies for not having this up yesterday, but time got away from me.

I realize that I did an end of year declutter but after watching LizzieLovesLife’s video on decluttering her expired/old products, I decided I really needed to take a better look thru my collection. I didnt want to start off the year/decade with expired products.

Its a shame that so many products in my collection were showing signs of their age. Some stopped performing (but I thought I could make them work) and others are simply expired.

I have also decided that I will be decluttering my ABH Modern Renaissance and Subculture palettes at the end of the year. I have progress on both palettes but I dont think they will perform by next year. I am trying to hit pan on every shadow this year.

I also have 4 lipsticks that didnt even make it into my collection that I will be giving to my daughter in law. (Not pictured) I didnt outright pay for them. They came in subscription boxes last month and so I wont be factoring them into any of my totals since the subscription box is already accounted for in my yearly budget.

After adding up the values, the amount shown in the photo below is $167.05.

June 2019 Empties

My apologies to those who were expecting a post last week. Its always crazy around the 4th of July for us.

Last month I concentrated on perfume and foil samples. I was able to finish 4 of my perfume samples and many skincare foils.

This months empties total is $70.39!!

fullsizeoutput_15e5

Did you finish anything last month?

For July I am going to be concentrating on finishing up a lot of the deluxe sized face masks I had begun for the May Mask Challenge.

Lets talk about Perfume

I absolutely love trying out new perfumes. I used to love when they would put a sample in the Sephora Play boxes every month. I would try them out and get a roller-ball if I really liked how it wore on me.

But then, I noticed just how many perfumes I was collecting and so for the last couple of years, I made it a point to wear perfume everyday. Ive even put those small little samples into short-term projects so I could use and enjoy them, instead of them wasting away in a small drawer.

This is how many of those samples Ive accumulated.

fullsizeoutput_14cf

I even started collecting those adorable deluxe sized perfumes.

fullsizeoutput_14ce

I mean, seriously…..they look fantastic when on display. Surely Im not the only one who feels this way.

I don’t have many roller-balls, but they do fill up a coffee mug (that’s how I store them).

fullsizeoutput_14cd

At least I knew enough not to buy any full sized perfumes. I recently had to declutter a full size Elizabeth Taylor perfume that had probably been sitting in a drawer for 12 years.

The best part about wearing perfume everyday is that you do actually use it up. Granted, Ive only used up samples, but its a start!

fullsizeoutput_14cc

Ive actually used up 9 samples! It might not seem like a lot, but considering they were only ‘collecting dust’ I think Im doing great!

Do you have a perfume collection? Has it gotten out of hand? Are you trying to use them up? Let me know in the comments.

Birthday Haul!

My birthday is next week (the 19th) and after receiving those emails with the coupons/codes, I decided to make some purchases.

Most of my purchases were skin care related.

I purchased some sheet masks, facial sprays and a Peter Thomas Roth brush on sunscreen from Ulta. I really enjoyed the Neutrogena sheet masks so I stocked up on those. I wanted to try some watermelon based skin care, so Im trying out the Ulta brand.

I chose the Drunk Elephant birthday gift from Sephora. I really have been enjoying the Peter Thomas Roth mask sample I have, so I purchased it in the full size. The Sephora lip infusions are $3 each and I really enjoy the two I already have. I also chose a Sephora brow product that might have been $3. I chose the Tarte lip balm from my VIB points, and the Moschino perfume (the windex bottle) was a code you put in if you spent $25-35. The other items were samples (they are all perfume samples).

My local BareMinerals store closed a few months ago so I didnt think I would get the free birthday shadow this year. I have sold/decluttered all of my other loose shadows from BareMinerals because I dont use them. However, this year I was able to choose which shade I wanted (out of three). I chose the Queen Phyllis shade because it makes for a great inner corner highlight. I also purchased a mini concealer (Im actually almost finished the one that has been in my project pan.) as well as a cream shadow. Both were in their sale section.

I won’t say how much I spent. (its not pretty) Ive been doing so well on my low-buy / no buy until now. HOWEVER, I am no where close to how much I spent last year and Ive been using quite alot up this year.

Have you been trying to spend less this year? Did you splurge for your birthday?

May 2019 Empties

I have to say that I had a very good month of May. I was able to finish up several deluxe makeup and skin care products.

If you aren’t following my blog or my Instagram, you might not be aware that I am doing the May Mask Challenge by Lisa Stevens so this month of empties is a bit skin care heavy.  My goal was to mask 15 times in May, but I managed to mask 24 days!

A major standout to me is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mask! You can’t beat the price and it made my skin feel so moisturized. I have very oily skin and most masks just make my skin feel slimy, but the Neutrogena Hydro Boost mask was outstanding. The serum just sunk right into my skin and it did not slide around like others have. You HAVE to try it!

This months empties total is $97.90!!

Did you participate in the May Mask Challenge?

Are you doing a rolling project pan? What products are in yours?

February 2019 Empties

Happy March!!

As you can see by the photo, I did not finish a lot of products, but I did finish up some staples. I was able to finish one of my favorite shampoos (Ion brand) as well as a now discontinued conditioner. Im actually working my way thru some deluxe samples before I open a full size shampoo and conditioner, and you can see a shampoo sample from L’Occitane as well as two body washes (I actually liked the Aveeno body wash so much that I have already purchased a full size).

My grand total for the month of February is $168.66

I wanted to put a spotlight on the Nutrition Now MultiVites gummies. I received these for free for review but liked them so much that I purchased them. Surprisingly, these were only $12 on Vitacost’s website.

Did you finish up anything last month? Are you keeping track of the cost?
