I got a new iPad and Apple Pencil!

As you may know, I’ve been steadily selling what I could and saving whatever I could to purchase a new MacBook.

I’ve done a lot of research and decided to purchase a new iPad instead.

I’ve absolutely been loving my renewed MacBook Air and I’ve had an iPad Air since 2015 that my SO has been using. So we erased my newer iPad Air and I gave it to him to use. We erased the 2015 iPad and did a trade in to Apple.

Neither of our iPads supported the use of the Apple Pencil and I knew wanted one that supported the Generation 2. After going back and forth on what I wanted to use the iPad for I decided that the IPAD mini 6 would be perfect for what my intentions were.

I knew I wanted the folio case as well as a nice stand and I able to use my gift cards to make about 1/2 of the purchase. I also had enough left to get the SO Airpods!

I have been loving my new IPAD and I’m actually using the Apple Pencil to write this post!

Isn’t she pretty?

Eventually I will get a new MacBook, but I think Ill wait until next year. Theres always murmuring about new updates.

I cant wait to update you on my second quarter sales next month!

What do you do with old cell phones?

In my seemingly never-ending quest to declutter, Ive run across a situation that I have not been able to solve.

What am I supposed to do with all those old cell phones that I cant power on to erase before recycling? I dont even have a Windows PC/laptop anymore to even attempt to hook it up in this manner.

Without throwing shade to any specific company, I used to be an android user. I have probably 10-12 old android devices that simply broke. The responsible thing is to erase whatever data might still be on these devices and then send them somewhere to be recycled, but how do I do that if they dont even power up?

If you can help direct me to any information about how to proceed, I would appreciate it. I dont need any monetary compensation, I just want to be able to recycle without my data being compromised.

(Ive already contacted one company and they only accept newer phones for trade in purposes and you have to be able to erase your data prior to sending it in.)

Another skincare declutter

This one hurts.

I love a great scented body lotion, but unfortunately my cat seems to be irritated by it. We have been getting her treated for almost as long as we have had her. We believe the culprit is my scented lotions.

So I did an experiment. I only used unscented body lotion for the last few weeks and her scabs are now healing and her hair is growing back. Now, this could be a coincidence, but this is the longest she has gone without scratching her ears raw. I havent had to medicate her or the sores since making this change.

So, all of my Bath & Body Works lotions (along with a few random others) will be given to my daughter in law. She is very excited to have these because she doesnt treat herself often.

I know I got these lotions on sale so I had to estimate their value, and Ive come up with $49 – which is a shame. I have also added any other scented body products that were more heavily used and are not included in this photo, but have not attached a monetary value to those.

Have you had to declutter because of someone else having a reaction to it? It sucks but better to be safe than sorry.

Dedicated/Obsessed to decluttering

I have been on a mission!

Ive been selling items on Facebook MarketPlace, Mercari and Poshmark this last week and even took a large bag of clothing to a friend. I get so excited to see the clutter go!

Ive almost hit the $1,000 mark for what Ive sold this year. Ive been splitting the money between saving for a new MacBook/IPad and fun stuff for my office. I would like to sell at least 10 more items this month.

Ive been having so much fun reorganizing the desk I got from MarketPlace and got a new LED lamp and one of the Ikea carts on wheels this week. My cat also likes the larger area to sprawl out to take a nap on.

Im hoping to have my office ‘done’ in about another week.

I had a nuclear stress test (Lexiscan)

Without divulging my private health information, I wanted to share that I had a nuclear stress test last week. Shockingly, there is little information out there about this test from the perspective of the patient.

First – a tip – If you have any issues with fasting, get the earliest time slot in the day and if your test is to be done all the same day bring something to keep you busy for up to 3 hours.

My procedure was done in an outpatient cardiology clinic.

After you check in, you will meet with a technician who will go over a brief health history and will insert an IV ‘line’ as well as inject what they call a tracer. This tracer is what ‘lights’ everything up so they can see everything clear in the scan. I was told to walk around a bit so the tracer moved thru my system and drink water (which they did provide for me).

After 45 minutes or so I was then taken to a room for my first set of ‘pictures’. I expected a machine similar to an MRI or CT scan in which you lay down – and many facilities still do it that way, but I was lucky to see a more open AND upright chair.

You sit in this chair with your arms crossed at chin height and it spins around to have you face the plates you see behind the back rest.

This set of scans took about 15 minutes.

You are then taken back to your waiting area to have something injected that makes your heart feel racy for about 3 minutes. Its a pretty intense feeling and I did have some side effects that were easily reversed with a medication. You are hooked up to an EKG during this time and they monitor you for about 5-10 minutes until your heart rate comes back down.

My Apple Watch logged this 3 minute time period as exercise while I laid on the exam table!

It is at the time that you are allowed to eat! Can you tell I was excited about this part? Ive been told some clinics will give you food, but I brought my own snacks and suggest that you do the same.

Roughly 45 minutes later you are taken back to the area to get your last set of pictures. This set of scans seemed to take about 25-30 minutes. I was allowed to leave as soon as this part was completed, but you may have another test scheduled.

This test was not as scary as I made it out to be. It might have been more harrowing had I been placed in a machine similar to an MRI, since Im a little claustrophobic.

I hope this posts calms you if you happen upon it and you are looking for information. I was absolutely panicked for nothing.

My test was Friday morning and I was able to view my report thru my patient portal by Monday mid-morming.
