March 2021 Empties

Wow! Its hard to believe that we are 3 months into 2021!

The total for this months empties is $39.97! The total amount for the first quarter is $256.05!

And the best part? I did not spend one cent on makeup or skincare this quarter!

I was able to finish off the Simple moisturizing face wash. This is the last pouch I had. I liked using these to cleanse my face at the gym after a workout. I didnt want them to expire so I made sure to use them now since I do not know when or if I will rejoin the gym after the pandemic is over.

Did you finish anything this month?

Skincare Collection – Moisturizers

I wanted to share my skincare inventory this year – mostly to keep myself accountable. Ill be splitting it into manageable sections over the course of the next few blog posts.

In this post, Ill be sharing my moisturizers.

Similarly to my eye creams, most of these were acquired in 2020 thru various subscription boxes or for review.

I am currently working on the Belif and the Dr Jart moisturizers. Ill be using them from left to right (in order that I received them).

Have you used any of the moisturizers pictured above? I havent used any of them before so I would love to know your thoughts.

2021 Rolling Project Pan

Since we are still dealing with a global pandemic, I decided to start my year off with using items I know I can use. Skin care is something I use no matter what is going on, and I always have enough back stock to keep using skin care in different projects. I know this isnt the most exciting type of year long project, but achievable goals are important.

Many of the items Ill be starting out with have been in prior projects while others just happen to be the next oldest products in my stash. As I finish an item, Ill be rolling in another of a similar type.

My biggest goal this year for this project is to finish my full size Peter Thomas Roth Hungarian Thermal Water Heat Mask.

Here are the products I will be working on:

  1. Hand Cream – Curel
  2. Hair Product – Not Your Mothers dry shampoo
  3. Body Lotion – Neutrogena Hydro Boost
  4. Cleanser – Biore Rose Quartz
  5. Serum – Josie Maran (this one is still hanging on)
  6. Day Moisturizer – Elemis / Dr Jart (Both are in use and Im about halfway done.)
  7. Night Moisturizer – Belif aqua bomb
  8. Eyes – Drunk Elephant C-Tango
  9. Mask – Peter Thomas Roth
  10. Perfume – Elizabeth and James Nirvana (this is the oldest perfume I have and it works for me in the winter. I will be changing this out in March.)

Will you be doing any type of year long project?

October 2020 Empties

Since I dont foresee myself finishing anything else this month, I decided to post my empties a little early.

I am so pleased to have finished so many full size bath products this month. It takes me forever to finish a full size shampoo and conditioner because I have such short hair.

I have also used up a number of skin care foils – most were in my final push project I recently began.

My total of empties this month is $69.95!

Were you able to finish anything?

Fall into Winter Final Push Project Pan

For those who have been following my blog for awhile, you may know that I like to do a project at the end of every year to try to finish up whatever I can. If I remember correctly, its samples of skincare focused.

This year I wanted to include foils, deluxe samples and a full size product. I am also still working on my 9 By November project and whatever Im still working on will just roll into this.

I wanted to include as many aspects of my everyday skincare routine as I could.

  • Sulwhasoo serum – Ill be using this as my daytime serum
  • Mac Oil Control Lotion – Ill be using this as my daytime moisturizer
  • Josie Maran Retinol Serum – Ill be using this as my nighttime serum
  • Clarins Tonic Treatment – I believe this is a body oil
  • Clarins Body Milk – Ill be using this as a body lotion
  • Belif – This is the eye cream Im currently using
  • Olay Retinol – Ill be using this a few times a week as my night time moisturizer
  • Loccitane – Ill be using this as a hand and foot cream

Ill also be using the foil samples from Sephora, Origins, Kora Organics, Drunk Elephant, Tata Harper, Vichy, Summer Fridays

Will you be doing a final push project to round out the year?

June 2019 Empties

My apologies to those who were expecting a post last week. Its always crazy around the 4th of July for us.

Last month I concentrated on perfume and foil samples. I was able to finish 4 of my perfume samples and many skincare foils.

This months empties total is $70.39!!

Did you finish anything last month?

For July I am going to be concentrating on finishing up a lot of the deluxe sized face masks I had begun for the May Mask Challenge.

April empties

I finished a bunch of things during the month of April. Below is a listing of those items as well as a photo of everything.

  1. I am decluttering two samples of the Marc Jacobs Remarcable foundation. They are the two lightest shades and oddly enough, they are too light for me.
  2. I finished the Sephora solid cleanser. I like using this to clean my makeup brushes. I used to use baby shampoo and olive oil but using a solid is much quicker and easier. I have repurchased.
  3. I finished a sample of Lush’s Don’t Look at Me fresh face mask. This stuff smells like Fruity Pebbles cereal. It’s a great exfoliater and it brightens my skin. I will purchase once I use up my other face masks because this one expires relatively quick.
  4. I used up the Ole Henriksen sheer transformation moisturizer. I LOVE this moisturizer. It works wonderfully under makeup. This was in my Skincare Sample Showdown Project Pan.
  5. I also used up the Belif true cream aqua bomb moisturizer. While I did enjoy using this, it was thicker than the Ole Henriksen. It does have a pleasant smell and sinks in quickly, but I don’t see myself purchasing it. This was also in my Skincare Sample Showdown Project Pan.
  6. I finished the Dionis white jasmine and shea hand cream. I love this hand cream. It has a wonderful scent and moisturizes my dry hands. I have already purchased a replacement.
  7. I have finished the Lush peppermint foot cream in what might be record time! This stuff makes my feet feel alive and it definitely moisturizes my feet. I have already repurchased.
  8. I used up the Sephora brow pencil. I really like the Sephora pencil. The only real flaw is the end that has a comb and not a spoolie. They are about $12. I do have a back-up so I won’t be repurchasing right now but I would if I didn’t have back-up brow products.
  9. I used up a Neutrogena makeup remover wipe pack. I do like these but I prefer the pack that’s green. I do have a couple back-up packs, so I don’t have to repurchase yet.
  10. I used up a Simple cleansing facial wipe packet. These are just a sample pack of 7 that I received in a subscription box. I think they changed the wipe because I didnt used to like these, but they worked a lot better than I remember.
  11. I completely killed two Revlon nail files. I use one for my hands and one for my toe nails. I have purchased two new files.
  12. I finished the Vichy cleanser. I had never used a product from Vichy before and this was a mild cleanser. I did like using it but it did not remove makeup despite the claim that this was a one-step cleanser. I would not repurchase.
  13. The Estee Edit oil cleanser was a complete surprise to me. I’ve been using some other cleansing oils that do not perform as well as this one, and once I use those other oil cleansers up, I will consider purchasing this one.
  14. The Cetaphil cleanser is one of my favorites. I usually refill this small travel bottle but I somehow ruined the threading in this bottle. I like using this as my second cleanse after removing my makeup but I’ve removed makeup with this cleanser before. It’s very gentle on the skin and leaves your face feeling clean. I have a large pump bottle that I’ve refilled this smaller one but when it runs out, it will be repurchased.
  15. The Dove dry oil moisture Moroccan Arian oil body wash was awesome. It didn’t leave a soapy feeling behind and smelled fantastic. I have some other body washes but it’s definitely one I would consider purchasing.
  16. What sort of empties post would this be without a couple bottles of Scopejuice? I went hard this month finishing up THREE BOTTLES! Somehow I managed to not have anything else to vape but this juice. I would and have repurchased.

So those were the products I finished up in April. Did you finish anything?

Skincare Sample Showdown | Project Pan Update 1

Back in March I posted that I would be doing a project pan of skincare products (Skincare Sample Showdown). Here is my first update on the progress of that project.

Items in BOLD have been finished. Items Italicized were decluttered.

  1. Lush Pink Peppermint Foot Cream – I have finished this! I did purchase another tub.
  2. Glamglow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer – I have used this a couple of times and it makes my skin look great. Im still afraid that it will make me appear oily during the warmer months, so Im trying to use it up as quickly as possible.
  3. Embryolisse moisturizer – Im still about at the halfway point because it makes my skin look greasy. Ive been switching between this and the Origins at night.
  4. Ole Henriksen Moisterizer – I have finished this. I do have this in my loves list on the Sephora site, but I have a ton of moisturizers to use first.
  5. Belif True Cream Aqua Bomb moisturizer – I have finished this. I did really like this product, but I like the Ole Henriksen moisturizer more.
  6. Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask – I have been using this but it looks like I hardly made a dent in it. I dont need alot. Ive also been switching between this and the Embryolisse moisturizer.
  7. Vichy One Step Cleanser – I have finished this product. I probably won’t be purchasing it again since I have a ton of cleansers already that are more easy to obtain.
  8. Estee Edit Dissolve the Drama – I finished this! Ive been working on a couple of cleansing oils and they all seem to last forever.
  9. Clean + Clear Morning Cleanser – I added water to this to ‘thin’ it out because it got really thick. It still refreshes and hasnt broken me out but I am almost done.
  10. Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream – This did not match my skin tone AT ALL so I decluttered it.

So, did you start a project that you hope to complete by the summertime? If so, what is your progress?

Spring Declutter

Since Ive accumulated some items since I decluttered earlier this year, I decided that I need to do it again.

  1. BareMinerals Serum and eye cream foil packet samples – I already have a full size of the Skinlongevity serum and I am working thru some eye creams now so I didnt need this sample card.
  2. Loreal Revitalift serum and cream – Ive tried a few samples of this before and did not like the product.
  3. Belif mask – I already have masks I like so I decided to pass this sample on.
  4. Versace Dylan Blue – This scent is not one I like.
  5. Sum Bum  self tanning towelette – I do not tan. I would never keep up with it and Im so fair skinned, that these products make me look odd.
  6. Oil of Olay sculpting cream – Im not sure what this is, but I dont particularly like Oil of Olay products.
  7. Smashbox primer – I have a travel size of this, so the foil packet is unnecessary.
  8. Tom Ford Neroli Portofino – I did not like this scent.
  9. Novex curl shampoo – I have super straight fine hair so I am giving it to my daughter in law because she has naturally curly hair.
  10. Loreal Revitalift moisterizer – I do not like this line of products.
  11. it Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye – This sample is too dark for me to use.
  12. BareMinerals Skinlongevity Serum deluxe sample – I already have the full size.
  13. BareMinerals brush – I ordered one to gift to my daughter in law.
  14. Ulta lip gloss – I dont use lip gloss.
  15. it Cosmetics CC cream – This sample is too dark for me to use.
  16. Dr Jart Ceradmidin cream – My skin is much to oily to use a cream this heavy.
  17. Lancome Eyeliner – I have enough eyeliner to last me three lifetimes.
  18. Mark loose eyeshadow – I am decluttering alot of my single shadows.
  19. Smashbox trio – These are shades I will never use.
  20. Ven Effect – I will never use this.
  21. Olay X micro peel – I dont like Olay products.
  22. Balance Me Under eye cream – This product is tinted and is far too dark for me to use under my eyes.
  23. Purple lip balm – I dont remember this brand (got it in an Ipsy) but I dont wear purple.
  24. Shiseido sunscreen lotion – I already have a sunscreen I wear.
  25. BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick – I dont usually wear lipstick and this shade is much too red for me.

By the time of posting, these items have already been given to my daughter in law. She was really excited to try these items out.

Skincare Sample Showdown

Since I have just about completed my 9 Samples to Spring Project, I decided that I wanted to do another similar project for the spring season.

This time, I have decided to do a skincare theme because who doesnt want great skin for the summer? So without further ado, here is the list of items I will be attempting to finish by June 20th:

  1. Lush Pink Peppermint Foot Cream – I LOVE this stuff. I have about 1/4 of the jar left.
  2. Glamglow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer – I believe I got this in a kit from Sephora. I havent even opened this yet, but Im excited to try it.
  3. Embryolisse moisturizer – I got this in a Birchbox. I started using this last summer, but Ive found that its better for me to use during the colder months. Im about halfway thru this sample.
  4. Ole Henriksen Moisterizer – This was a 100 point perk from Sephora. I really have enjoyed this moisturizer, and Im about halfway thru this small jar.
  5. Belif True Cream Aqua Bomb moisturizer – This was a 100 point perk from Sephora. Ive only used this a couple times but I did like it.
  6. Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask – I got this in a kit from Sephora. I have not opened this yet, but Ive liked other items from Origins.
  7. Vichy One Step Cleanser – I can’t remember where I got this, but it smells fabulous. I plan on using this as my evening cleanser.
  8. Estee Edit Dissolve the Drama – I got this in a Sephora Play Box. Ive been trying different cleansing oils lately and Ive only heard good things about this one.
  9. Clean + Clear Morning Cleanser – Ive had this for awhile and I dont want it to go bad or expire. I only have a small amount left.
  10. Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream – I have no idea where this came from. Its in Light/Medium so it might match my skin.

I will be finishing this project on June 20th and will provide monthly progress updates on March 21, April 18, May 23, and the finale on June 20.

Let me know if you have any projects in the lead up to Summer!
