Its been a busy time

For most of us, this is the busiest time of the year. From October thru December we are in a mad dash to do all of the things.

Im mid-way thru a new strength program on Les Mills and in the process of deep cleaning our house. We arent entertaining guests during this holiday season, but I still like to start the year fresh.

I have also begun my quarterly digital declutter. This past year, its been more of a struggle, but Im slowly getting everything organized.

Thursday I start a new diamond painting for the #BeTheHeroDPAlong event. You can follow along my progress in my IG stories if you are interested.

I will not have any empties this month, and may not post this Friday. I will be posting once a week in December and will be changing some of the focus of this blog in 2023.

Cleaning out our pantry

We are gearing up for the holiday season and a new year!

Many of us will be preparing to host or at least bringing a dish to a family gathering. The best thing is to make sure nothing you are cooking with is expired.

Before any festivities begin, you will want to go thru and check any expiration dates. The easiest way to do this is to empty your pantry. This way you can check the dates as well as regroup like items.

We have a small pantry that has a few shelves, but this will work whether you have a large area or a small one.

While the pantry area is empty, its a great time to wipe off your shelving. You can go the Go Clean Co route using Water, Beach and Tide or use a cleaner of your choice.

Make sure to note the items you need to repurchase and leave room for them when putting things back.

We were able to knock this out in just about 30 minutes.

When is the last time you cleaned out your pantry? Its not just for spring cleaning anymore!

My experience with participating in diamond painting events

As some of you are aware, I picked up a new hobby this past spring. Diamond painting!

I’ve found a great online community. I started watching several YouTube videos and then joined a few facebook groups.

Most mentioned hosting or taking part in these diamond painting events.

Back in May I participated in “Star Wars and Space Diamonds” followed by “Summer with the Masters” in June and July. I recently took part in “Drills and Chills” in September and October. I will be participating in the “DP Hero A long” December and January.

I think these events have helped me focus on different types of art styles within this craft. I definitely have very different preferences than most. Ive also been able to see more of whats available thru following event hashtags. Participating in these events also ensures I finish my project in a timely manner.

Im only planning on participating in two events next year. “Star Wars and Space Diamonds” and “Summer with the Masters” I already have the two canvasses for them. My plan is to finish what I already have purchased and then save for two Josephine Wall pieces from Germany. They have over 150 colors and that will be my own project for either the second half of 2023 or for 2024. I also have another Gustav Klimt canvas on my list after I finish Woman in Gold next June-July.

I do plan on hanging some of my finished pieces, but I have not yet done so.
